The cathedral complex of the Transfiguration of the Lord, Salekhard

The architectural answer to the cathedral complex built in Salekhard in honour of the Transfiguration of the Lord was based on the 'Byzantine style'. A monumental three-tiered church will be the tallest in the Artic.

The project aims: make the cathedral complex attractive for tourist and pilgrims, emphasize a monumental architectural building and harmonize the light ensemble of the cathedral's town church and square.

At the moment project estimates and work documentation on the artistic lighting devices for the lighting of the facades and outside lighting are being drawn up. The complicated composition includes pouring light onto the facades - this will be achieved with the help of lamps with elliptical optics - and accented lighting of each element.

Accent lamps will be placed on the facade of the building. This solution enables the expression of a spacious, plastic and flower composition ensemble, lighting of significant architectural elements, visually sharing all details.

Once the building and assembly works are completed, the cathedral will get a unique nightime look, a special combination of light and shade.
